Ever wondered what it would feel like to be a gypsy princess while soaking under the warmth of the sun, running through wooded areas and swearing dreamy outfits? Sonam and Paras Modi's collection is the real-life version of just that image. The duo's latest collection Tara from their brand SVA is all about summer hues and carefree abandon.

SVA showcased their latest collection at the Lakme Fashion Week and lent a casual yet festive touch to the summer dressing. Think pastels, denim, organza and embellishment - this collection was everything that the boho brides need to take note of. In conversation with Pinkvilla, the designer duo spill beans on Tara.

Taking a mix of contemporary and traditional a notch higher, Tara is all about exquisite detailing on pastel fabrics. "The collection is named after Tara, a princess who has left her royal abode and is trying to break free to reconnect with her gypsy soul," Paras begins by talking about the collection. But its not all whimsical and soft florals for there are a lot of denims as well. Clearly, they have tried their hand at experimentation with this line. "Styles, silhouettes, fabrics, we have tried to experiment with everything. We even start off with denims," adds Paras about the line that has a range of denim shararas, crop tops, jackets, etc. When it comes to menswear, they even have denim kurtas and jackets. "We are trying to keep things cool and casual in this collection, keeping spring and summer in mind," Sonam pitches in.

But how difficult is it for the designers to keep up with the changing and ever growing trends of everyday fashion? "It is not about keeping up with trends. it is more about creating your own," Sonam says confidently. And they have indeed created their own trend with this collection, making everything in Tara completely ideal for summer with contemporary silhouettes and a fusion of embroidery, which seems symbolic of their spring summer line. "It is not about trends, it is about reinventing ourselves," she adds. And reinvented themselves they have!

To each person, the definition of fashion and style keeps changing. For this designer duo though, fashion is simple. "Fashion to us is just art and creativity. It is a way of expressing ourselves," Sonam concludes smiling.
