One of the most versatile hairstyles out there is the iconic ponytail. With this, one can hardly go wrong as it looks great when worn with both Indian and western outfits. In most cases, even a mirror is not needed to pull your hair back into a neat ponytail if it is feeling too messy. It can go from formal to casual, from chic to sporty by just messy around with the strands and tousling them up a bit! Much like us, celebrites too vouch for this style since it is so easy to manage. Here are some ways in which you can style the basic ponytail, in a celebrity approved way.

The high ponytail

The idea of this ponytail style is that it makes your face look tighter. It pulls the face up, aligning it well and adding structure to the cheekbones making the face look taut overall. Ensure you smoothen all the fizz and flyaways with a brush!

A fun braid

A braided ponytail makes for an excellent look and is the perfect mix between edgy and classy. All you need to do is tie your hair into a high ponytail and then braid it with two separate sections or three to create a rope braid or a generic one. Once you are done braiding, secure your hair with elastic at the bottom end.

Texture for the win

For the perfect textured hair, tie up your hair into a basic low ponytail. Take the bottom half, divide it into multiple sections and with the help of a curling ironadd waves to these different pieces of hair. Then mix it together for a more natural, textured and messy look.

Amp it up with accessories

Not just funky elastic bands, but you can use accessories like barettes, embellished hair bands, clips, etc to hold the ponytail upright and add a sense of glamour or style to it.

Mix it up

Can't decide which of the above styles you want to try out? Sport a mix of them together! Add braids to your hair and also part it in the zig-zag form - a trend that was big back in the late '90s!
