Krishna Janmashtami is the birthday celebration of the mischievous Lord Krishna. This auspicious festival is very close to all our hearts because as per the Indian calendar, this was the day when Lord Krishna was born and he protected the people from evil and gave them a better life and taught them lessons that are till date valued. Yellow and Orange are the two colors that are considered to be auspicious and loved by Lord Krishna. It is a great idea to incorporate these two colors in your outfits this season. And like every other festival, this festival too gives us an opportunity to shop for clothes and dig right into the beautiful Indian works and pick the best for ourselves. If you’ve been wondering what to buy here are some great outfit ideas for this festival.

Go for a simple, sober and elegant saree. Something with a zardozi work border. You can pair your saree with a chic blouse, maybe a denim jacket or a nice off-shoulder blouse can look amazing. If want to go all ethnic then you can go for a basic blouse with some design and cutwork in the back.

A simple lehenga is a great option for the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations. A heavy work lehenga might be a tad bit too much for this festival. Try to keep it simple with a basic cotton lehenga with a Kutchi work dupatta or a raw or art silk plain lehenga with a heavy work dupatta. An outfit like this can look simple yet very chic.

A skirt and top can also be a great idea for a festival like Janmashtami. You can wear a desi long skirt with work and embroidery with a western top or even a shirt. You can go for the heavy brocade or Banarasi fabric skirt and shirt look with a statement neckpiece. A simple printed set of traditional skirt and top would look amazing too.

If you want to keep it even more simple you can try wearing a churidar or a palazzo suit. They’re nice breezy and simple. A simple suit like that with a nice heavy dupatta will look great. A phulkari work dupatta or a net dupatta with patchwork or zardozi work will be a great fit.

A simple flowy Anarkali with a big ghera will be great for Krishna Janmashtami. You can dance around and feel free while you do it because it lets you flow. Try to go for an Anarkali which is full sleeves or three-fourth sleeves or is sleeveless. Anything other than that won’t look too good.
