Uh-oh! Is cold and flu back? Flu symptoms can cause a world of misery, from fever and cough to a sore throat, nasal congestion, aches and chills. While it takes its own sweet little time to heal, it causes problems like none other. Being sick, even when you’re home in bed, isn’t fun. So, we have a few home remedies that will help you get through the misery with ease.

Vegetable/Chicken soup

Soup may not cure everything but it is a great choice when you’re sick. When made from scratch and in a warm pan, the nutrients from the vegetables help your body fight with the infection. It is a great choice, no matter how you’re feeling!

Ginger

While ginger has been great medicine for centuries, it is one of the most common ways to kill the cold. A few slices of raw ginger root in boiling water may help soothe a cough or a sore throat. It is also a great cure for symptoms like nausea and vomiting.

Warm bath

Warm baths help reduce body aches that come along with the flu. Warm water can help soothe fever-like symptoms.

Honey

Warm tea and honey are great to cure a sore throat. Honey has a variety of anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties. So, having it at bedtime can reduce flu-like symptoms and a sore throat.

Garlic

Garlic reduces the risk of becoming sick in the first place. Incorporating garlic in your food can help reduce the severity of flu-like symptoms. It works as a short-term treatment when you start getting sick.

Eucalyptus steam

Eucalyptus extract helps in clearing blocked nasal pathways. Putting eucalyptus oil in your steam can help clear congestion.
