Soup in itself is a wonderful dish. It is warm, comforting, nourishing and delicious. It hardly requires any effort and can be made within minutes. Chicken soup is made with very few and easily available ingredients. It provides comfort and is beneficial for health.

 

Everyone has their own way of cooking chicken soup and has a list of spices that they use. We have for you an easy and classic recipe of chicken soup that is delicious and irresistible. It is made with a handful of ingredients and is best paired with some buttered garlic bread.

Step 1

 

Wash and finely chop 2 onions, 3-4 celery sticks, 2 carrots, 1 cauliflower and 2 potatoes. Also finely chop 2 cloves of garlic and ½ inch of ginger.

 

Step 2

 

Take 250 grams of boneless chicken and shred it finely. Add the chopped vegetables along with a cup of sweet corn and the shredded chicken in a pressure cooker. Add 2-3 peppercorns, 1 bay leaf and ¼ cinnamon stick. Add 3 cups of water and cook the vegetables for 2 whistles.

 

Step 3

 

Heat some oil in a pan and add the chopped ginger and garlic. Saute for 2 minutes on medium heat.

 

 

Step 4

 

Add the vegetables and corn. Strain the water in which the vegetables and chicken were cooked and pour it into the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes till the vegetables become tender.

 

Step 5

 

Add the shredded chicken and season with some salt and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes on medium heat. Squeeze in some lemon juice and serve hot.
