One such irresistible dessert that is perfect for chilly winter evenings, is gulab jamun. It is very easy to make and can be made with just a handful of easily available ingredients. So follow this simple 5 step recipe to make this delectable dessert at home in a jiffy.

Step 1

Take around 10-12 bread slices with their sides cut, and grind them to make a fine powder. Add milk to this powder and knead it to make a smooth dough. 

Step 2

For the sugar syrup, take 2 cups of water in a pan and add 1 cup of sugar in it. You can also add some ground cardamom to enhance the flavour. Let it come to a boil and cook it for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3

To make gulab jamuns from the dough, simply take the dough and roll it to make the round shape of a gulab jamun. You can add dry fruits like cashews or raisins in the dough. 

Step 4

Take a pan and heat some oil in it to fry these balls. Fry these balls one by one in oil till you get the dark brown colour that is required to make perfect gulab jamuns.

Step 5

Once fried, dip these balls in the prepared sugar syrup and let them sit in the syrup for 10-15 minutes. Garnish with some chopped pistachios and almonds and serve hot.
