If you are a regular in the kitchen, you probably already know what ajwain or carom seeds look like. These are oval shaped seeds that are a big part of the Indian cuisine. This incredible spice is native to India and Middle Eastern countries. The taste of ajwain is bitter and pungent, and not for the faint hearted! Yet it is added to a number of dishes for its unique flavour and distinct aroma. Some of us even like to chew on a handful of ajwain seeds after a heavy meal for easy digestion. If you just can’t seem to get rid of the stomach ache, chew some ajwain leaves and down it with water. Ajwain leaves are great at curing minor stomach aches and other gastrointestinal problems.

Chew some ajwain leaves after a meal to get rid of bad breath. The leaves also keep your gums healthy by fighting the harmful bacteria in your mouth.

3. Can hydrate really well

Make an herbal juice by combining ajwain leaves and tulsi leaves. Squeeze in a lemon for a dose of vitamin C. This juice maintains the electrolyte levels in your body and keeps you from getting dehydrated.

4. Fights the common cold

Combine the juice of ajwain leaves and honey to experience relief from cough and cold. It also helps in fighting a number of respiratory infections.

5. Improves immunity of children

If your child falls sick very often, consider giving them ajwain leaf juice with little honey every morning. This can boost the immunity of children and infants, and make them resistant against common cold, fever and digestive issues.
