Weight Loss Tips: Homemade raita recipes which will help you lose weight faster
When it comes to weight loss, diet plays a huge role. Getting in shape doesn't come easy and just exercise is not going to help one shed those extra pounds. But losing weight can be a tad bit easier by consuming homemade raita which is basically a lot of vegetables, cumin seeds, black salt, chili powder, salt and more mixed in curd or yogurt.
One raita which is very popular across the country, is boondi raita, but since the boondi is fried this could add to weight rather than reduce it. Here are some raita recipes you can make at home easily to aid weight loss.
Cucumber Raita
Cucumber is one of the best vegetables one should consume when they are trying to lose weight, since it is formed mostly of water. It also has detoxifying properties and zero fat, which is great for the body.
Ingredients:
Half cucumber
One cup curd
Salt
Pepper
Chili powder
Method:
You can either grate the cucumber or slice it up into small pieces.
Add it to the cold curd.
Add a pinch of salt, chili powder and pepper to taste.
Mix it well.
Vegetable Raita
There is nothing healthier than consuming vegetables when you are trying to lose weight. All you need for this raita are just the basic vegetables.
Ingredients:
One cup curd
Half a tomato
Half an onion
Quarter cucumber
Salt
Pepper
Chili powder
Method:
Chop up the vegetables into tiny pieces and add them to the curd.
Add a pinch of salt, pepper and chili powder.
Mix well.
Jeera/Cumin Raita
Jeera or cumin is one major ingredient which aids weight loss. It is known to consist of a compound called Thymol which promotes the secretion of digestive juices which helps in reducing those pounds.
Ingredients:
1 cup curd
1 spoon jeera
Quarter cucumber
Half tomato
Half onion
Salt
Pepper
Method:
Roast the jeera seeds in a non-stick pan.
Finely dice all the vegetables and add them to the curd.
Add the salt and pepper to it to taste and then mix well.
Lauki/Bottle Gourd Raita
Since it has a high fibre content, Bottle Gourd is a great vegetable for digestion and has very low calories, making for the best vegetable for those who want to lose weight.
Ingredients:
250 gm Lauki
2 cups curd
Salt
Chili powder
Cumin seeds
Method:
Peel the lauki first and then grate it well.
Boil it in salt water for around five minutes.
After draining out the water and letting the lauki cool down,add it to the curd.
Add salt, chili powder and cumin seeds to this and then mix well before consuming.
