One of the aches that is worst and painful is a toothache. Toothache can last for a short period, but it can be painful. Toothache can happen to anyone when your tooth is infected with some bacteria or when you have tooth decay. Bacteria inside your mouth contribute to dental decay,  which causes pain. It is also caused when a tooth is pulled out or when you lose teeth. You have gels and tablets that help you with toothache, but it's always better to keep some home remedies handy too. 

 

So, next time if you have a toothache, here are some home remedies that you can use to get rid of toothache instantly. The ingredients are easily available, and you don't have to do much for preparing these remedies. So, we are saying, till you go to the dentist, don't live the pain and try these remedies instead. 

 

Clove:

 

Clove is found in every Indian household, and we have been using clove to get rid of toothaches from ages. It is so because cloves contain a substance called eugenol, which is a powerful antiseptic and painkiller. Put a clove in your mouth, near the tooth that is causing the pain, and keep it for a while; it will ease your pain. 

 

Alcohol:

 

No, we are not suggesting you drink gallons of alcohol when you have a toothache. But instead, soak a cotton ball in whiskey, squeeze out excess, and place it next to the sore tooth, allowing it to sit for 10 minutes. It will soothe your aching tooth.

 

Cucumber:

 

Cucumber is known for its cooling properties and works excellent for constipation and dark circles. But apart from this, it also helps with toothaches. Use a room temperature cucumber by cutting it into a slice. Then hold it for a while over the affected area, you will notice the difference soon. 

 

Turmeric:

 

Turmeric is an antiseptic and works well for toothaches. Add a teaspoon of turmeric powder into a small amount of water and make a paste. Dip a cotton ball into the paste and then place it into your mouth on the affected area. Let is sit for a few minutes, then rinse your mouth. 

 

Saltwater:

 

Rinsing your mouth with salt water will clean the harmful bacteria that might be in or around the affected area. In a glass of warm water, add some salt, and swish it around in your mouth for about 30 seconds. It's the simplest way to treat toothaches.
