When it comes to natural acting, Bhumi Pednekar is one of the actresses in Bollywood who is known for her natural and raw talent. The actress who made a grande debut alongside Ayushmann Khurrana in Dum Laga Ke Haisha in 2015, stunned everyone with her transformation. The actress who didn't mind essaying the role of a chubby woman in the film has lost over 32 kg since then. And for all of us who are trying to lose weight, we know it for a fact that losing weight is not as easy as it sounds.

Here's how she went from 89 kg to 57 kg in about six months without going on a crash diet


Bhumi didn't go to a nutritionist or research on Google to lose weight. Apart from being physically active, she only ate a simple home-cooked meal, since that is the most effective way for weight loss. 



Being a sweet tooth herself, Bhumi also stopped the consumption of refined sugar and that was the best decision of her life. Refined sugar – brown or white – is nothing but the taste and empty calories. Instead of adding sugar, she opted for raw honey or stevia. 



Bhumi made sure to drink 7 litres of water daily. She consumed detox water which helped her to flush out toxins from her system. The detox water consisted of lemons, mints and cucumber. These ingredients not only aid a better digestion but are also good for your skin and contain anti-inflammatory properties.



Bhumi made sure to eat right and never starve herself. The actresses doesn't believe in starving and following crash diets. In an interview, she had also stated that she wanted to lose weight at her own pace and did not believe in doing it in a hurry.


Like every other person on weight loss, Bhumi too had cravings. So, she followed a cheat meal strategy. After burning off enough calories and eating healthy, she rewarded herself with a yummy, cheat meal after every 5 days. That made sure that she ate what she wanted and did not compromise on her diet too.



Bhumi not only focused on eating right but she also made sure to follow a workout regime. She alternated between cardio and weights at the gym. Doing cardio at least thrice a week helped her burn the calories and shed the fat. Going for weight training twice a week improved the muscle mass, tone the body and improved muscle strength and power.She also emphasized the importance of moving around a lot instead of sitting at one place for too long.
