Cabbage belongs to the Brassica genus of vegetables and comes in a variety of colours like red, white, green and purple. It is packed with vitamins and minerals and looks a lot like lettuce. It is used in various dishes like kimchi, sauerkraut, etc.

Spinach, on the other hand, belongs to the  Chenopodiaceae family and has a bitter kind of flavour. When it comes to comparing these two vegetables, here are some differences and similarities between the two. 

Cabbage

Cabbage is loaded with Vitamin C, which helps in the production of collagen and improves immunity and bone health. Vitamin C helps in protecting the body from damage caused by free radicals.

It is rich in fibre and minerals like calcium and potassium. It also contains powerful antioxidants like polyphenols and sulfur compounds.

Cabbage is rich in Vitamin K that aids blood clotting and is needed for the binding of calcium in bones.

Spinach

Spinach leaves are dark green in colour because of the presence of chlorophyll and carotenoids like lutein, beta carotene and zeaxanthin. These carotenoids help in improving eye health and have anti-inflammatory properties.

It is rich in Vitamins A, B2, C, and E along with magnesium, manganese, calcium and iron. It is also rich in vitamin K that helps in maintaining bone health.

Spinach is loaded with antioxidants that help in preventing free radical damage, thereby preventing premature ageing. It is packed with essential nutrients and thus, helps in keeping the skin glowing and healthy.
