Every creature in the world needs water to survive. Water is known as the best solution for multiple problems. Be it weight loss, hair fall or skincare, water helps you get through everything. It not only flushes out toxins but also keeps you fresh and hydrated throughout the day. Minimum 2.5-3 litres of water should be consumed throughout the day. And if you are someone who feels thirsty constantly, then that means that you are dehydrated.

When you are dehydrated your body is not only losing water, it is also electrolytes, such as salt and potassium, which help your body breathe, move, talk and do all the other things it needs to do to stay up and running. Thirst, fatigue, dizziness or constipation are sure signs it’s time to reach for water or a sports drink that’s low in sugar and high in electrolytes. However, not everyone understands how dehydration can affect your system. So, read below to find out some signals that your body gives you when you are dehydrated.

Bad breath:

Dehydration can prevent your body from making enough saliva. If you’re not producing enough saliva, you can get bacterial overgrowth in the mouth, which is one of the side effects of that is bad breath.

Crave sugar:

When you're dehydrated, it becomes difficult for the liver to release glycogen-stored glucose, so you can get cravings for sweets. Cravings for sweets are common because your body may be experiencing difficulty breaking down glycogen to release glucose into the bloodstream to use as fuel.

Headaches:

Dehydration can cause a headache. Although various factors besides dehydration can cause headaches, drinking a full glass of water and continuing to sip more fluids during the day is an easy way to ease your pain.

Dry skin:

If you are dehydrated for a while, your skin starts to feel dry and may even appear flushed. When pinched, the skin of a dehydrated person may remain tented and take some time to return to its normal appearance. It is a sign that proves that you need to sip on some water.

Muscle cramps:

When your body loses fluids, it's unable to cool itself and that leads to heat illness, which causes muscle cramps. The hotter you get, the more likely you are to get muscle cramps. As the muscles work harder and harder, they can seize up from the heat itself. Changes in the electrolytes led to a muscle cramp.

So, if you feel these symptoms, just chug 2-3 glasses of water to feel better.
