Several studies concluded that that the spice does increase insulin sensitivity. And many clinical tests on animals too showed that turmeric does actually act as a hyperglycemic agent. For the unversed, Hyperglycemia simply refers to high blood sugar. Headaches, frequent urination, fatigue, nausea and weakness are some of the common symptoms of the same. The chemicals in turmeric stimulate the creation of insulin. It also improves the activity and performance of pancreatic cells, called beta cells which produces insulin. This is not all, the spice also reduces glucose creation in the liver. Also, the spice lowers insulin resistance by fighting inflammation in the body.

One of the simple ways to add turmeric in your diet is by having turmeric milk. Boil milk and add turmeric in it. After simmering for a few minutes, have it warm in the morning. Aside from turmeric, the properties of milk will also help to tackle health issues. One can also black pepper as the phytochemicals present in pepper also helps in overall health.

Other ways to manage diabetes 
Aside from medications, one should have a healthy diet, include the workout on a daily basis and maintain a balanced lifestyle. Coming to diet, make sure you have whole foods more such as veggies, fruits and grains more and not junk and processed foods which are fat and sugar-laden.

Also, one should not misuse it and have it in excess as the same can backfire. Overconsumption of turmeric can lead to liver problems. Also, if you are suffering from gallbladder disease then you should avoid turmeric as the same can worsen the case. If you are anemic or have a history of kidney stones then you should take extra care as the intake may worsen these cases. If you end up consuming more turmeric then you may suffer from thinning blood, indigestion, nausea and diarrhea among others.
