Diabetes Test: THESE are the different types of blood tests for diabetics

Diabetes is a disease in which the body doesn't produce enough insulin or doesn't use the produced insulin in the body. It's one of the causes of deaths in the world. Diabetes is divided into three stages: Type 1- which is common amongst the children, Type 2- which is a common type of diabetes amongst teens and adults and Type 3- which is also known as gestational diabetes is due to insulin-blocking hormones produced during pregnancy. This type of diabetes only occurs during pregnancy.

When it comes to diagnosing diabetes, it takes more than one blood test to conclude whether you have diabetes or not. Urine tests and blood tests are common tests for diabetes, but doctors also suggest other tests to the patients. If you don't much about the diabetes test, then don't worry we've covered you with this one. Read below to find out some tests which determine whether or not you have diabetes.

Type of blood sugar or diabetes test:

1. Fasting blood sugar test

This test is common, and one needs to fast overnight to do this test. Fasting is important because the next morning when you get the test done, your doctor comes to know whether your blood sugar is in the normal range or not.

5. Haemoglobin A1C test

It is one of the important tests, as it measures how much sugar is stuck to your red blood cells, which generally have a lifespan of three months. Therefore, this test gauges how high your blood sugar has been in recent months. If a haemoglobin A1C test result is 8% or higher, it's a sign that blood sugar is not under control. However, making lifestyle changes can reduce your A1C. Lifestyle changes, good eating habits, reduction of stress and good environment can help with diabetes.
