Chickpeas or ‘chana’ is one of the most commonly eaten legumes in not just India, but all over the world. Chickpeas are mostly available in two common varieties of ‘desi’ and ‘kabuli’. You can identify ‘desi chana’ by its small and dark appearance. It also has a rough coat and is small in size. ‘Kabuli chana” on the other hand is usually larger, lighter colored, and has a smooth coat.
