A healthy meal is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. You cannot live a healthy life if you don't eat healthy and make healthy choices and not doing so can take a toll on your life and your body as well. You are what you eat and when you eat unhealthy you end up with health problems that don't go away easily.

All the junk food and oily fried food can lead to major health problems that may be chronic like blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. This is why having a healthy lifestyle and staying fit is essential. We all need to cook healthy meals and workout daily to stay healthy. A healthy body means a healthy mind and it means a happier you. Here are some healthy food recipes that can help keep your dinner light and healthy and keep your digestive system at ease.

1. Dalia

Chop all the vegetables you need like peas, capsicum, carrot, potatoes and onions. Put some oil in a pan and saute onions till they're golden brown. Then, add the vegetables and cook it for 2 minutes on medium flame. Then, add some salt and chilly powder to taste and then add the Dalia to the mix. Put some water in it and cover it and cook it for up to 5 minutes and you're ready to go.

2. Khichdi

Take a bowl of rice and a bowl of moong and cook it in a cooker. Once that is done, take some oil in a pan and heat it. Add some chopped onions and green chillies and saute them. Once that is done add some salt to taste and add the moong and rice mix to it and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.

3. Suji Upma

Saute onion, curry leaves and some lentils in a pan and on the other side roast some suji. Then add suji to the sauteed onions and squeeze some freshly squeezed lemon juice and add some salt to taste. Add some water in the mix and cook it for up to 5 minutes.

4. Chickpea Salad

Take a bowl of chana and boil it. Take some finely chopped tomatoes and onions and cabbage and any other vegetable you like and mix it well. Add the boiled chana to it and add some salt and chaat masala to taste.

5. Masala Oats

Put some water in a pan and put a bowl of oats in it. Add finely chopped vegetables to it as per your taste. You can add chopped vegetables like broccoli, beetroot and carrot and beans. Mix it well and cook for up to a minute and then add some salt to taste and garam masala. Cook it for 5 minutes and you're all set.
