Direct exposure to the sun can make your skin feel jaded. With the summer season at its peak, the harmful UV rays can affect you directly and diminish the moisture and glow from your face.

While creams and cosmetics can help shield your skin to a certain extent, the chemicals present in them are also harmful to the skin. Getting the right one from the market is also a challenge. According to a recent study by the Society of Dermatology SkinCare Specialists (SDSS), 88 per cent of women don't know the right products for their skin. Well, it isn’t entirely surprising as the huge skincare “must-haves” and “must-do” solutions can leave anybody in a muddle.

Since it can be difficult to figure out the right natural remedies to protect your skin from tan and heat, here are five summer face packs you should try to keep your skin glowing and tan-free.

Tomato pulp face pack

Take a tomato. Cut it into two halves and take out the pulp. Turn it into a smooth mixture and add two drops of honey to it. If your skin is tanned, it is the best solution around. Apply it to your face, arms and legs. Wash it off with cool water after 15 minutes.

Cucumber face pack

Cucumber is known for its cooling properties, especially to soothe the skin in the scorching sun. Add sugar to cucumber slices and refrigerate it for two to three hours. Once it is cool, make a paste and apply it all over your face, knees and elbows. Wash it off after 20 minutes.

Egg and honey mask

Packed with 13 essential vitamins and minerals, high-quality proteins, eggs are not only good for health but for skin care as well. Add an egg white in a bowl and mix it with a tablespoon of lemon juice. Apply the paste your face and wash it off after 15 minutes. It also helps in skin tightening and keeping it oil-free.

Banana face mask

If you have dry skin, this face mask is for you. Mash a banana and add a tablespoon of honey and cream. Apply it on your skin and wash it with lukewarm water after 10 minutes. It will leave your skin rejuvenated and fresh. You can also add papaya pieces to the paste.

Aloe Vera and lemon face mask

Aloe vera is known to heal the skin and naturally lighten its colour. Extract the gel from aloe vera leaves and add a few drops of lemon. Apply it on your skin to free your skin from bacterial and fungal infections.
