The moisture helps the germs survive much longer. It also accelerates their growth. Monsoon is the time when infections and viruses multiply and spread too quickly. The change in the temperature and the weather can affect your body. It also weakens your immune system and exposes you to the germs and viruses and infections. This is one of the main reasons why we fall sick very rapidly this season. It’s not very difficult to catch a cold or flu or an infection. It’s essential to take good care of your body and surroundings to ensure that you are protected from such problems. It’s very easy to catch the virus in the rainy season because it just happens to be in the air. Falling sick in the season can make your mood feel much worse but as it is said, “Prevention is better than cure”. It’s important to do everything you can to prevent it rather than looking for cures.

1. Maintain hygiene. Keep washing your hands regularly. Wash them before eating and after sneezing.

2. Keep your home clean. Ensure that there are no dirty old utensils in the sink and your bathroom is clean. Ensure that there is no water retention anywhere near or inside your home. You don’t want to breed and germs or mosquitoes.

3. Try to avoid outside food during this season. You do not know the conditions it has been cooked or kept in. You don’t know how sick the person cooking or packing it may be.

4. Avoid sharing anything with anyone during this time. These infections are contagious and you never know who may be infected by which germ or virus. Don’t share your food or water or clothes with anyone as you may end up sharing germs and falling sick.

5. If you get wet in the rain, take a bath with clean and warm water and put some Dettol in it to ensure that your body is clean of germs and bacteria.

6. Eat nutritious and immunity-boosting foods during the rainy season. It helps your body fight all the germs and bacteria it comes in contact with.
