One of the most common causes of this burning sensation is gastritis. It is a condition that affects the stomach’s lining causing it to be inflamed. Too much acid in the stomach contributes to a burning feeling. There are many diet and lifestyle habits that cause gastritis like extreme stress, drinking too much alcohol, smoking, some medicines etc. 

It is important to find out the exact cause of this burning sensation in your stomach before it gets worse. Taking a medicine to clear out the burning feeling is not good for your health. Small burns like these may lead to something serious or even increase your risk of stomach cancer. You must consult your doctor for proper diagnosis if you experience burning sensations frequently. Before that, you can try these simple home remedies to get relief. 

  1. Baking Soda

Baking soda is a quick and effective remedy for gastritis. This is because it is alkaline in nature and will help you cure the burning sensation as it’s pH is higher than 7.0. It neutralizes the stomach acids and stops the burning sensation. 

Steps to follow:

  • Mix ½ tablespoon of baking soda in a glass of water. 
  • Stir it well till it dissolves completely. 
  • You can add honey or lemon juice to give it flavour. 
  • Use this as and when required.
  • Avoid using this remedy for more than a week, as it is high in salt and can leading to swelling or nausea. Do not drink this on a full stomach.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar balances the acid production in the stomach. It makes the digestion of food easier and reduces the stomach acids. This drink helps to restore the pH levels in the stomach. 

Steps to follow:

  • Mix one or two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water.
  • You can add little honey for taste.
  • Mix the drink well before you drink it.
  • Drink it once or twice a day.

  • Crush raw garlic.
  • You may either eat the garlic raw or cook it as well. 
  • If you do not like the taste of raw garlic, eat it with a spoonful of peanut butter.

  • You can also make a banana smoothie with cold milk.
  • Try other acid reflux fruits like papaya, apples or watermelons.
