A good example is most of Asia, where the main staple food is rice, not wheat. It's perfectly possible to have a healthy diet which is also gluten-free diet using most standard dietary advice."

So if you are following gluten-free or low gluten diet then you have to exclude many common food items such as wheat bran, wheat flour, semolina, barley, rye, bread, pasta, cereals, cakes, cookies, pizza, candies, packaged foods, chips, sauces and beer among others.

What to eat?

Meats, fish, eggs, dairy products-milk, yogurt, cheese, fruits, vegetables, rice, quinoa, buckwheat, tapioca, corn, millet amaranth, oats, potatoes, corn, chickpea flour, soy flour, almond flour, coconut flour, tapioca flour, nuts, herbs and spices among others can be added in the diet.

Bottom line, following this diet may lead to weight loss and other health benefits, but one should know that there are few negative side effects as well. One of the same is nutritional deficiency as gluten-rich food items also have many vital nutrients.
