But, choosing the right aerobic regime can be quite confusing. If belly fat seems to be your area of concern, here’s a two-minute set that will be as beneficial as walking 30 minutes a day.

Also known as star jump, jumping jack is a simple exercise that needs one to leap into the air with legs spread wide and hands clapping in the air. After each jump, the person needs to be back to the resting position with feet together and arms at the sides. Popular as the side-straddle hop in the US military, the best way to make it beneficial for slimming is by performing at least three sets of 100 jumps each.

Before you get scared, remember that one set will take only two minutes to complete and it will take you back to your fun childhood memories.

Just so that you don’t get bored with the same set, there are many variations of jumping jack that you can try.

Front Clap Jumping Jack

Fold your hands and take it to the front with palms faced towards each other. Split your legs and jump high up into the air. Repeat it about 20 to 30 times.

Alternating Jumping Jack

Split your legs so that your right leg is in the front and left leg is at the back. Bend your knees a little. Jump into the air and take your legs in alternating positions towards the front and back one by one. Repeat it at least 25 times.

Plank Jack

Kneel down on a mat in a dog or cat position with flexed elbows and clenched fists. Support your body on your arms and jump while splitting your legs in and out. Repeat 15 times.

Different variations of jumping jacks will also help you focus on losing weight from different parts of the body. Not only this form of cardio helps in weight loss, but it also makes your body flexible, increases coordination, tones muscles and improves stamina.

According to the American Heart Association, everyone should aim to get a minimum of 30 minutes of some form of cardiovascular exercise at least five days a week. But always remember to wear comfortable clothes and a good pair of shoes.
