Stress is a huge energy drainer. It just sends your body systems into an overdrive. Different people have different ways to deal with stress and here are some easy tips to just de-stress and calm yourself down. Tried and tested!

Call a friend

They usually tell you to stay away from your phone when you’re stressed out. But pick up the phone and call a friend and vent it all out for a minute. According to studies, listening to a friend’s voice can actually lower your stress levels.

Sweat it out

Stressful situation instantly increases the level of stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol in your body. To bring it back to normal, indulge yourself in some kind of physical activity.

Paint your nails

Sit down and paint your nails. This activity will help you calm down and give you the time to think and sort things out in your head. The repetitive motion of painting nails can be soothing too.

The stress diary

This is a super easy way to de-stress as it helps you become more aware of the situations which cause you to become stressed. Note down each stress episode and how you feel about it both physically and emotionally. This is equal to venting out.

Take a quick shower

Take a quick shower in warm water which will calm you down in a jiffy. The warm water will calm your muscles down which in turn lowers your heart rate and bring back the stress hormones back to normal.
