Rose Day is celebrated every year on February 7. This day marks the beginning of Valentine’s week and it’s followed by Propose Day, Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, Hug Day, Kiss Day and finally Valentine’s Day. Lovers gift roses to each other to celebrate the day. But as you know that roses have different colours and they bear a different meaning. So, on this rose day, let’s discuss the colours of roses and their purposes.

Red roses

Generally, red roses symbolise love, deep affection, desire and longing for a person. When someone gives a red rose or roses to the other person, then it’s a way of saying “I love you” or conveying your emotions.

Pink roses

Pink roses show grace, gratitude and joy. They are considered as a token of admiration when given to someone. There is more gentleness in pink roses than the red ones. But giving a dark pink is a way of saying thank you to someone and a pale pink rose indicates gentleness.

White roses

White roses are for showing innocence and purity. And for this reason, white roses are often given at weddings and other celebrations.

Purple rose

Purple roses indicate fascination and adoration. They are also often associated with loyalty and are often given to kings and queens. Deep purples roses are great to send for an occasion or celebration.

Yellow rose

Yellow roses are a symbol of caring and friendship. So, never send yellow ones to someone you are romantically interested in. Yellow roses have no romantic significance in them compared to all other roses.

Orange roses

Orange roses show enthusiasm and passion. They also convey romance but not in the way red roses do. This can symbolise a budding romance for its colour. So, if your relationship has started from a friendship, then sending orange roses to your partner would be more meaningful.
