There are seven different energy centres in our body that connect us spiritually and environmentally. These energy centres are called chakras of our body. Among these seven chakras, the sacral chakra is the second one that is located two inches below the belly button and its colour is orange. This chakra governs our emotions, sensitivity, creativity, sexuality, intimacy, self-expression and emotional well-being. So, here’s what you should know about this chakra.

If your sacral chakra is out of balance, then you may experience fear, depression, emotional instability, loss of creativity, sexual dysfunction, reproductive issues, addiction, pain and stiffness in lower back and hips, pelvic pain and constipation.

How to enhance and heal your sacral chakra?

1. First, simply acknowledge that your body and the chakra need some healing. So, you can opt for Reiki or any other methods of energy healing.

2. Connect with water to enhance your sacral chakra. Hydrate yourself properly and drink plenty of water. You can also add some orange juice to make it more prominent or take bath adding some orange essential oil to the water.

3. Add orange colour food items to your daily meal plan like mango, melons, carrots, pumpkin, orange, nuts, seeds, butternut squash, fermented foods, etc.

4. Become creative as much as possible and do whatever you want to like drawing, cooking, baking, gardening, singing, dancing. You can also try something which you have never done before.

5. Sacral chakra is located right below your belly button, so doing some hip-opening movements will help you to get some energy flowing in the area. You can stretch your hips, do some dance steps or practice different yoga poses. Butterfly pose, cobra pose, seated torso circles, goddess pose are some the poses that you can practise to enhance your sacral chakra.

6. Practise chanting the sacral chakra mantra VAM or you can also bring some healing crystals for this like amber, coral, orange calcite, etc.
