Obesity is one of the common issues that people across the world have and many of them struggle every day as losing weight is quite a tough job which requires a lot of dedication, however, it is not impossible. And, one should try and lose weight if they are obese as it can lead to other life-threatening health complications such as type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, cancers and depression among others.
Obesity is mostly caused by consuming more calories, especially fatty and sugary foods than required and if you don't burn the extra calories then the excess energy is stored as fat in the body.

Some even skip rice totally in order to achieve weight loss. Nutritionist Diksha Chhabra, in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, busted the myth and helped us to separate facts from fiction.
She said, "Rice has a bad reputation as it is a simple carb. It gets digested very quickly and you get instant carbohydrate for energy and that's why rice has a bad impression. If you are exercising and maintaining your calorie requirement eating rice will not harm you.
She also gave a smart hack for the rice lovers and those who want to have rice in their diet without impacting negatively to their weight loss journey. She said one should exercise before having their meal and the meal can include rice in it. She said one can go for 30-minute walking and then have a meal as the body is in burning calories mode and whatever food you eat will get burned eventually. So, if you want to have a carb-rich diet, first exercise before the meal.
She also spoke about how people are scared of wheat also as it has gluten. She said one should not completely eradicate carbs for weight loss goal. One should ideally control their portion sizes and must go for colourful plate covering macronutrients such as protein, carbs, fat, fiber, vitamins and mineral.
One not necessarily needs to avoid rice totally if smartly planned. Also, one should go for brown rice over white ones as the former has more fiber, vitamins and minerals than white rice.
Also, rice of any kind is actually weight loss-friendly if eaten with a healthy and well-balanced diet and having the right amount of it. So make sure to eat healthily, see your serving size and have an active life.
