Here are 6 common causes why students stress
We all fear when we listen to the word exams. It is important to fair well in exams but do not stress yourself to a point where you become sick and affect your mental health. Your health is equally important as getting a good grade. Take it easy and trust yourself.
Tip: If you know that exams stress you out, start preparing for it from the start. Knowing your part makes you much more confident. While studying, use natural light and keep yourself full with healthy food.
- Poor sleep
Students must make a habit to go to bed early. Lack of sleep makes it difficult to concentrate and learn effectively. This will lead to poor performance in class and exams and stress out students. Being disciplined is important when you are a student. You must take your sleep seriously to keep yourself healthy.
Tip: Go to bed as early as you can. Avoid taking your phone to the bed. This will not only keep you fresh the next morning but also help you to focus better.
- Lack of support
Due to lack of support from parents and friends, students often feel stressed. Sometimes a lot is expected from them but they cannot perform due to lack of support from their closed ones. This stress usually occurs in high performing students.
- Participating in class
Many students stress when they are called upon to answer a question. These students suffer anxiety and are unable to participate in class activities.
Tip: Such students may not fear or stress as you are presenting in front of an audience which belongs to the same age group as you do. Be confident. Practice till you overcome your weakness.
This is one of the most common causes of stress for students. For some students, it is difficult to keep a balance and they often keep their homework incomplete. This leads to increase in work load and a big stressor.
Tip: Be consistent with your homework. It will not help you learn better but also reduce your stress. Do it while you are in school/college itself so you do not forget once you are at home.
- Social pressure
Sometimes teenagers want to be accepted by their friends and to do so they start changing their dressing sense, the way they talk and lifestyle. They become under pressure to act differently and please everyone.
