Black Adam takes us back 5000 years to the city of Kahndaq, ruled by the ruthless king Anh-Kot. He wanted to create the Crown of Sabbac, which could give immense power to the wearer. Anh-Kot enslaved his people to extract the magical crystal called Eternium, required to make the crown. A young boy led the slaves to revolt against him and gained the power of Shazam, becoming Kahndaq's champion Teth-Adam. He killed Anh-Kot, putting an end to his reign. In the present day, Kahndaq is still under oppression, this time by the Intergang. Adrianna Tomaz, an archaeologist, searches for the Crown of Sabbac along with her brother Karim and colleagues Samir and Ishmael. Adrianna and her team manage to get hold of the Crown of Sabbac, but their mission is interrupted by the Intergang, resulting in the death of Samir. While trying to escape, Adrianna accidentally reads an incantation that brings Black Adam to life, who goes on a rampage and kills most of the Intergang soldiers. However, Adam is later hit by an Eternium rocket, which puts him in a coma. Later, it is revealed that Ishmael, one of Adrianna's colleagues, is a member of the Intergang and plans to take the crown for himself. The government official Amanda Waller becomes aware of the events in Kahndaq and reaches out to Carter Hall, also known as Hawkman, and the Justice Society of America for help. The team consists of Kent Nelson, Doctor Fate, Maxine Hunkel, or Cyclone, and Albert Al Rothstein, or Atom Smasher. They are tasked with capturing Adam, but the question remains - will they succeed, or will Adam overpower them and become the hero of Kahndaq? Meanwhile, the Intergang is also after the Crown of Sabbac and threatens to destroy the city. This sets the stage for the rest of the movie.

Pinkvilla’s Review

Black Adam, starring Dwayne Johnson, has finally made an entry into the superhero world. The movie's major drawback is its heavily predictable storyline, making it unexciting for both diehard DC fans and casual fans. The movie's action scenes are gripping but get outdated quickly. Pierce Brosnan is enigmatic as Doctor Fate, while the other superheroes feel overstuffed and not properly introduced. Black Adam doesn't hide that it's primarily The Dwayne Johnson Show. The mid-credits sequence is the only unpredictable aspect of the movie and sets up a legendary future showdown.
