Bollywood Taking Inspiration From Ramayan and Mahabharat For Their Mega Film Projects

The epics Ramayan and Mahabharat seem to be the latest favourites of our filmmakers. Not only Bollywood, South Indian film artistes also seem intrigued by the epics lately. Films like Ram Setu, Brahmastra, The immortal of Ashwatthama, Adipurush, and Suryaputra Mahavir Karna are all upcoming movies that are inspired by tales of Mahabharata or Ramayan. The fetish for Ramayan, particularly, has been seen in Bollywood in the past, too. Sooraj Barjatya's hit film Hum Saath-Saath Hain or Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, or Rajneeti and Bahubali are automatic recalls when you think of epic inspiration by way of theme in Bollywood. These earlier films, though, primarily drew drama quotients from the epics. The upcoming roster promises to explore the stories with bigger production values, to say the least. Are you excited for these larger than life epic film story dramas?
