Can we expect something new in 'Radhe'?

Salman Khan's much-awaited film 'Radhe' will be releasing today. It will release simultaneously on the pay-per-view platform ZeePlex and in the theatres overseas. Judging by the trailer, the film only seems like a rehash of Salman's earlier films. Same scenes, same story, same Bhai as well as that same dialogue from Wanted which became popular that talks about his "commitment." Well, Salman has indeed stuck to his commitment to an Eid release.

Salman's career can be divided into two parts: Pre and post-Wanted. Pre the release of 'Wanted', Salman was doing all kinds of films. Good, bad, ugly. Then came that 2009 Prabhudeva film (who has also directed 'Radhe') which was his Liam Neeson 'Taken' moment. The success of this film turned Salman into an 'action hero' which he has been cashing in since. Dabangg. Wanted or any of his films are essentially the same wine in a new bottle. We are guessing 'Radhe' won't be any different. The only glimmer of hope in all this was the 2015 Kabir Khan-directed 'Bajrangi Bhaijan' where Salman was playing every man and not a superhero who beats 20 people at once. It also proved to be a critical success, with people lauding his "different" avatar in the film. But then again, he was back on track. Let's hope Salman tries something new from his next film. Till then, watch 'Radhe'.
