As COVID-19 positivity rate drops to 16.98% in India, this is the perfect time to prepare for the third wave!

As per Union Health Ministry Of India, the country's positivity rate has dipped to 16.98%. It was earlier recorded to be 24.47% on May 3. While we are still battling the second wave, the Western coast of the country is hit by cyclone Tauktae and additional precautions are being taken in coastal regions like Goa, Mumbai and Gujrat. Experts have suggested that the third wave might of Covid might hit us even before we recover fully from the current one. Some have even suggested a complete shutdown for a few weeks. New reports state that this third wave will target those below 18 years of age. The major reason behind this is that this age group is not yet allowed vaccination. Few cases of newborns are already cropping uo in Akola and Amravati districts of Maharashtra. As the positivity rate has dropped, the centre and the states should now plan and prepare for this upcoming wave as cases in children might be sensitive to handle.
