Did Sidharth Malhotra make a wise choice by opting out of Thadam remake?

Last year, Sidharth Malhotra was roped in to play the protagonist alongside Mrunal Thakur in the hindi remake of Tamil film, Thadam. The film is to be produced by Kabir Singh producers, Murad Khetani and Bhushan Kumar. However, after certain changes were made into the movie's screenplay in last November, Sidharth politely opted out of the project. Recent reports suggest that the makers have signed in Aditya Roy Kapoor for the role. The question arises if Sid was right in opting out of this project at this moment? He had a great start after he debuted under Dharma Productions. He won hearts with Mohit Suri's Ek Villain as the film marked Sid's entry into the 100 Cr club. His further choices are debatable as he chose scripts with good stories like Hasee Toh Phasee and Baar Baar Dekho which unfortunately didn't work at the box office. His recent films like Marjaavaan and Jabariya Jodi failed to keep him at the top of his game. With him opting out of Thadam remake, there are two ways to look at this situation- either he is taking extra care while fully committing to a project or he isn't being flexible with the professional changes which are approaching him. What's the case here according to you?
