Is fear of failure making Liger makers do excessive PR?

Liger is a pan-India movie being produced by PuriConnects and Dharma Productions. It stars the South Indian superstar Vijay Deverakonda and Bollywood Actress Ananya Panday in the lead roles and is supposed to release on 9th September 2021.

The budget of this movie is supposedly a massive 125 crores. The actors and team of this film, especially Charmme Kaur and Karan Johar, seem to be doing massive PR and publicity for the movie. They are constantly releasing BTS clips of the cast doing fun things, the Paparazzi has been spotting he cast of Liger at parties and in different places of Mumbai almost every day or weekend, and the shooting of the film is sparking regular interactions of the team of Liger with media and common people (often creating mobs).

All these things make us wonder - is all the budget being used for so much PR? Or are they overselling the film because they are extremely scared of its failure? The movie is launching an established South Indian star in Bollywood - what if it doesn’t work out? What if Ananya doesn’t work with the South Indian audience? This, after all, is a huge financial risk and so far, the posters or storyline (minimal of which is released) don’t look very appealing.

Well, I sincerely request the team to tone down the PR. It is beginning to look desperate and obnoxious. But let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
