How ‘Bangalore Days’ changed the scene of the Malayalam Film Industry

All film industries these days have been going through some sort of transition. Films of all languages today have become more content-driven. Although this change had begun laterally, there have been a few films in each industry which pioneered this change. One such film is ‘Bangalore Days’ which changed the content scene of the Malayalam Film Industry.

This film didn’t fit any of the established genres - it wasn’t an action, comedy, or romance film. Instead, it was a feel-good movie surrounding the journeys of three cousins, who are emotionally very close with each other, in their own lives of finding purpose and life partners. It had humour, emotion, love and tremendous entertainment. It opened up conversation around failed relationships, complicated familial bonds and gradual acceptance of all kinds of people.

The film had an ensemble cast of Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim who delivered amazing performances and made the content of the film look much more entertaining. Hence, finally, it can be established that films like ‘Bangalore Days’ should be more in number.
