Is Karan Johar making a last attempt to save Dharma through a Jio Studios collab?

What's going on with Dharma Productions? Karan Johar and his production house have been in quite murky waters recently. Every other day there is a headline regarding its fate.

Dharma's deal with Lyca fell apart, and it was expected to have been a massive collaboration. It was rumoured that the deal was called off because of the negative media reports around Dharma. Following Kartik Aaryan's exit from Dostana 2 and the drama around it, Dharma lost out on crores of rupees. It didn't help that certain celebrities and netizens compared it with SSR's situation. They likened it to nepotism, and claimed that it had been proven that Bollywood is a struggle for outsiders. With all of this being covered daily, Dharma needs to back itself with some strong PR or collaborate with someone new.

Now, it seems that the production house is in talks with Jio Studios. Karan had a meeting with owner Mukesh Ambani and the talks have been reportedly positive. Jio Studios took Bollywood by storm with Stree, and has partnered to release films like Bala, Angrezi Medium, Roohi, and even backed AR Rahman's 99 Songs. Is a collab with Jio what Dharma needs right now? And will Jio take this risk knowing that Dharma has recently been under scrutiny?
