Is life in Bombay as glam as is shown in 'Four More Shots Please!'?

Four More Shots Please! is an Amazon Original series which started in 2019. Its second season aired in April in 2020 and was as widely received as its first, if not more. While the show was received differently by different people, it can surely be called an unavoidable show.

The series revolves around 4 women from varying walks of life and their friendship. Three out of the four women are financially independent while one of them (Siddhi Patel played by Maanvi Gagroo) still lives with her parents and doesn’t have a job (at least in Season 1).

Considering the fact that the three women - Anjana Menon (Kirti Kulhari), Damini Roy (Sayani Gupta) and Umang Singh (VJ Bani) - are first-generation Mumbaikars with jobs which can be quite stressful and homes too lavish for Mumbai, they seem too glamorous for reality. They are always wearing their best clothes to their offices and parties, partying almost every weekend at a club in South Bombay and still managing domestic responsibilities.

Does Bombay really live like that? Is it really possible to work hard 5 (or 6) days a week wearing expensive, formal clothes; have home EMIs (or rents) and Car EMIs; domestic expenditure and responsibilities to deal with… and still have the zeal or energy to party during the weekends? Well, that’s a difficult question to answer. For the time being, most of us Mumbaikars just wait for the weekend in shabby, torn clothes, chugging vada pavs and coffees at regular intervals. And when the weekend finally arrives, we tend to curl up in bed and watch ‘Four More Shots Please!’ while questioning why our lives aren’t as happening. And then, we tend to catch up on our sleep while drooling away on the couch.

But hey! Everyone does their own thing. Let us know your weekly routines in the comments below!
