Netflix OR Amazon Prime Video- Whose Promotion Game Is On Point?

Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are both competing against each other every single day. They do have other competitors like Hotstar, Sony Liv etc. but they have never indulged into any open competition with them. Netflix India and Prime Video India try to outsmart each other while promoting their shows and films.

Prime Video's smart promotion game was observed in Sept and Oct 2020, when one of their most anticipated shows, Mirzapur S2 was scheduled to release. Amazon used memes, collaborations, interviews, clips etc. to keep their viewers updated, engaged and entertained. They were ready to continue this game for their other popular show, The Family Man S2, but a controversy hit them hard and they had to slow down.

On the other hand, Netflix first observes its hit shows and then continues to build content on them to promote other shows. Its StreamFest campaign had gained popularity as the company provided free streaming on 5th and 6th Dec 2020. They had planned this to get more subscribers. We don't know if that worked in their favour.
