Not just 'Radhe', Bollywood has been making bad Korean remakes

Salman Khan starrer 'Radhe' has received mostly negative responses from critics. It is one of the worst-rated films of Salman Khan on IMDB. Directed by Prabhudeva and co-starring Disha Patani, 'Radhe' is an official remake of the 2017 Korean film 'The Outlaws.' As with most remakes, 'Radhe' has been heavily modified to suit the sensibilities of the masala audience. There have been several Bollywood films that ripped off from Korean cinema, with bad results at the end of the day. For example, the Sanjay Gupta directed and Sanjay Dutt acted 'Zinda' was copied (almost frame-by-frame) from the acclaimed Korean film 'Oldboy.' Unlike the original, 'Zinda' received mixed responses. 'Bharat' is another Salman film to be inspired by a K'flick, this time it was from 'Ode To My Father.' Without a surprise, the film became a blockbuster despite getting bad reviews. Kartik Aaryan's much-talked-about upcoming film 'Dhamaka' is also an official adaptation of the 2014 film 'The Terror Live.' The teaser of the film left viewers divided but there is still hope as it is directed by Ram Madhvani. More or less, these remakes falter on some level, either in execution, storytelling, or some other department. The essence is lost in translation as the makers try to dumb down the nuances.
