Salman Khan's Radhe might be the next one to get postponed

A few weeks ago, the makers of 'Radhe' which stars Salman Khan and Disha Patani, confirmed that it will be releasing in the theaters on Eid (13 May). But looking at the number of cases arising in the second wave of COVID-19, it seems unlikely. Akshay Kumar's 'Sooryavanshi' and Yash Raj Films' 'Bunty Aur Babli 2' were some of the first few big tentpoles to push its release for the umpteenth. The theaters have been shut down once again in Maharashtra along with strict night curfews. This will directly affect the box-office numbers of any release at this time. And releasing a film amidst an explosion of cases will not be beneficial for any.

But there is a reason as to why 'Radhe' hasn't been released on OTT and its because Khan's films are mostly massy and cater to theatre-going audiences. There is still no equivalent of a film grossing 100 plus crores on the streaming platforms. This might be the same reason for YRF not releasing any of its films on OTT. But in the current scenario, people are very squeamish about going to theaters. The fear has seeped in again. So it will be interesting to see which side the camel sits.
