Tuesday Trivia: A look back at Diljit Dosanjh's Bollywood journey.

Diljit Dosanjh, who is seen as the biggest draw from the Punjabi industry into the Bollywood mainstream surely does know how to make a mark for himself. Be it his popular playback hits or his equally popular Twitter account, the Dosanjhawala was lately on the cover of several headlines in response to his verbal spat with Kangana Ranaut, making him the undeclared 'Hero' of the masses. While we all witnessed his magical performance in the award winning Bollywood film Udta Punjab, let's have a quick look at Diljit Dosanjh's Bollywood journey so far.

As a Singer

Diljit's first breakthrough as a Bollywood playback singer happened way back in 2012 when he sang for the soundtrack of the Bollywood film Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, in a single called "Pee Pa Pee Pa" that also featured him in the music video. The song was a hit which paved way for many more to come with names like "Main Taan Aidaan Hi Nachna" from Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, "Ikk Kudi " from Udta Punjab, " Dum Dum" from Philly Phillauri, "Move Your Luck" from Noor and his latest hit "Sauda Khara Khara" from Good Newwz, just to name a few.

As an Actor

Diljit Dosanjh amazed everyone with his brilliantly executed role of a corrupted police officer in Udta Punjab, for which he later won The Filmfare Award for The Male Debutant of the Year 2016. Following then has been a journey of ups and lows with decent performances in Phillauri, Soorma and Arjun Patiala. But what escalated the actor's graph to new heights was the 2019 superhit film Good Newwz. Not only it did receive good reviews from the critics but it also did exceedingly well at the box office, putting Diljit right back in the race of Bollywood's most sort after stars.
