Vakeel Saab: India's first 100-crore film post-pandemic?

Vakeel Saab opened to a massive 40 crores on its opening day on Friday, most of the collections coming in from just the two Telugu-speaking states, regardless of all the COVID restrictions in some of the biggest market states in India. There has been no doubt that the Telugu Film Industry has been one of the most successful film industries across the world in terms of its collections and business. However, this record set by the Power Star himself is a mile apart and has its own distinction.

This film has been special for a lot of reasons. Pawan Kalyan, one of the most loved actors in Tollywood, marked his comeback after 3 years. Boney Kapoor has produced a successful Telugu movie after a lot of financial losses. And most importantly, the film marks the beginning of the conversation about outright feminism in the Telugu states. And for such an important film to have made so much money and have such a legendary reach even post-pandemic is incredible. The Power Star keeps setting new heights which his next generations simply cannot match up to even if they tried!
