Vineet Kumar Singh: A Lost Star

What does it take to make it in the Bollywood? Talent? Skills? Hard Work? Dedication? Or Passion? Apparently that's not it! Because we have Vineet Kumar Singh being sidelined once again to pave way for the so-called "Biggies" of the Bollywood. If you don't know it already, Vineet Kumar Singh's latest venture Aadhar(2021) which was supposed to get a theatrical release on 5th February 2021 has now been postponed, confirms an Official from the Jio Cinemas Productions. Stating that since the new guidelines allow theatres to operate with 100% capacity the production house has recently decided to go with the "Biggies" first.

Aadhar which was earlier released way back at the Busan film festival in December 2019 is about the struggles of the common individuals of the country with Aadhar at its central focus. Vineet Kumar Singh looks sincere and convincing as 'Pharshua', the first person in his village to enroll for the Aadhar and actors like Sanjay Mishra and Saurabh Shukla bring in the much needed comic relief to this not so typical mainstream Bollywood venture. But what's disappointing is that the movie has now been left without a release date. And actors like Vineet Kumar Singh who has delivered stunning performances in movies like Bombay Talkies, Gangs of Wasseypur and Mukkabaaz are still not given their due credits. Maybe we do not deserve actors like these. A class apart and a lost star. ~J
