Why did Amazon Prime compromise on its quality by streaming Hello Charlie and LOL: Hasee Toh Phasee?

Amazon Prime came up with a new show called LOL: Hasee Toh Phasee featuring some of the funniest people in the business - Akash Gupta, Cyrus Broacha, Sunil Grover and Mallika Dua to name a few. It also features Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi. First of all, the makers did not put much effort into curating the title of the show but, I had hopes pinned on the comedians. But the jokes did not really hit my funny bones. Instead, they made me cringe at times inducing a headache. In a nutshell, the show was supremely disappointing.

Going back to April 2021, Amazon Prime released the film ‘Hello Charlie’ produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani which featured Ranbir Kapoor’s cousin Aadar Jain in the lead along with Jackie Shroff, Rajpal Yadav and Elnaaz Norouzi. The film failed to create an impact among the audience despite countless promotions from Bollywood actors.

Amazon Prime is counted as one of the topmost streaming OTT platforms. Many people even view that Amazon has outshined OTT platforms like Netflix. Do you feel that Amazon is compromising on its standards by streaming films and shows like the above? I think that they need to re-assess their content strategy if they want to stay ahead in the game.
