Why did Lyca Productions call off their deal with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions?

Lyca Production is one of the biggest productions from the South. They were all set to enter Bollywood and collaborate with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions to produce Hindi language films in December 2020. However, the deal between the two production houses has been called off. According to a source, no one knows the exact reason behind the deal falling through but it is confirmed. Karan has collaborated with Lyca in the past with Rajnikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 in 2018. The sci-fi movie was a big hit in Bollywood and in the Hindi market. Karan Johar and Fox Star Studios had a stable partnership for a long time and they worked on numerous projects together but the partnership ended after Walt Disney took over Fox Group. Fox Group will work with Karan Johar for Brahmastra but for his upcoming films like Dostana 2, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Liger and other movies remain without the support of any other studio.
