Why isn’t Sobhita Dhulipala doing Bollywood films?

Everybody knows the name ‘Sobhita Dhulipala’ which took the OTT platforms by storm in 2019 with ‘Made in Heaven’ in Amazon Prime Video and ‘Bard of Blood’ on Netflix. Dhulipala, before her success in 2019, had done a small role in Raman Raghav 2.0 directed by Anurag Kashyap, been the lead in a Telugu film titled ‘Goodachari’ and done a role in ‘Kaalakaandi’. The ‘Made in Heaven’ actress, ever since, has been making headlines for something or the other. Be it her photoshoots or acting, she has not failed to impress. Her Instagram aesthetic in particular has been aspirational.

The actress was last seen in ‘Ghost Stories’ in the story directed by Anurag Kashyap and has two films lined up - Kurup (Malayalam) and Major (Telugu) starring Dulquer Salmaan and Adivi Sesh respectively. And neither of the two is a Bollywood film. With such exemplary acting skills and a prominent public profile, one might wonder - why isn’t she in the big Bollywood films of these days?

So many possibilities prop up. Does the actor not have any dates to do big Bollywood films? Is the big old nepotism cropping up, cutting down opportunities for talented actresses like Sobhita? Isn’t she getting any worthy scripts? Or is doing South Indian films, OTT content and theatre become Sobhita’s comfort zone, out of which she doesn’t want to perform?

Let us know what you think is the reason in the comments!
