Steve Smith has had a memorable Ashes series till now. He followed up his twin centuries in the first Ashes Test with a brilliant double century in the fourth. He missed the third Test due to injury. His 211 was the major highlight of Australia's total of 497. With these performances, Steve Smith has announced his arrival into the international arena in a grand manner after serving a 12 month ban due to ball-tampering.

From the 5 innings, that he has played in this Ashes series, Steve Smith has scored 589 runs at an average of 147.25 including 3 centuries and a half century.

"I think and visualize before I play where people are likely to bowl to me and where I am likely to score and try to picture fields that are set and play things over in my mind, where I am going to get runs and how they are looking to get me out. Then out in the middle you have to adapt to whatever is thrown at you."

Steve Smith, who made 211 at Old Trafford felt that barring Stuart Broad, English pacers have overdone the short-stuff.

"I said before the game that if they bowl a lot at my head then they're not bowling at my stumps and trying to get me out LBW and caught behind the wicket. For them to go as short as they did and as early as they did with the new ball, softened that ball up and played into our hands."

In this innings Steve Smith also extended his own record, scoring an eighth successive fifty plus score in Ashes cricket.

"It's never easy. You're playing international cricket against some quality bowlers. I'll never say it's easy."
