England opener Jason Roy was hit on the helmet at a practice session, but has passed the concussion test and will likely play the third Ashes game against Australia that starts from Thursday.

The batter was hit on the helmet by a throw-down from former England player Marcus Trescothick, who is working with the team for the Ashes. Roy was examined after the incident, and did not look dazed. He, hence, continued batting. However, he will have a few follow-up tests on the morning of the game to determine if he has any delayed symptoms.

Steve Smith from Australia, on the other hand, will miss the Test at Leeds starting from August 22 after being diagnosed with delayed onset of concussion after he was hit on the back of the neck by a delivery from Jofra Archer on Day 4 of the last Test at Lord's.

England trail the five-match series 0-1.
