After dethroning Team India skipper Virat Kohli from the top in the ICC Test ranking, Australia batsman Steve Smith zoomed past Virat in terms of most number of Test hundreds. Smith achieved the feat after scoring his 3rd hundred of the series in the 4th Test against England at Old Trafford, Manchester on Thursday.

Smith has got to 26 Test hundreds in just 67 Tests while Virat Kohli has taken 79 Tests for 25 hundred. India's Sachin Tendulkar is on top of the list with 51 Test hundreds.

Meanwhile, Steve Smith also went past Mark Waugh to the third spot for the most number of hundreds in Ashes. Smith has 11 hundreds from just 26 Ashes Tests, 1 less than England's Jack Hobbs and 8 less than batting legend, Sir Don Bradman.

Smith has been in tremendous form so far in the ongoing Ashes series. He scored two hundred in the first Test in Edgbaston. Smith followed it up with 92 at Lord's before he was hit by a vicious bouncer by Jofra Archer.

Smith was ruled out of the 2nd innings in Manchester with a delayed concussion and he was forced to miss the Leeds Test that England won by a run and went on to level the 5-Test series.

Steve Smith has so far stayed ahead of Jofra Archer and has managed to deal with the threat posed by the England bowler. "There's been a bit of talk that he's got the wood over me, but he hasn't actually got me out. He hit me on the head on a wicket that was a bit up and down at Lord's. All the other bowlers have had more success against me, I daresay. I've faced them a bit more, but they've all got me out a lot more," Smith had said.
