The Committee of Administrators (COA) appointed the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) led by Kapil Dev to appoint the new Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team. Ravi Shastri eventually was reappointed the Head Coach ahead of Mike Hesson and Tom Moody. Following his reappointment, Ravi Shastri is expected to receive at least 20% hike in his CTC than his previous stint with the national team.

According to reports, Ravi Shastri, who had earlier been getting 8 crore per annum will receive somewhere between 9.5 and 10 crore. Also, the support staff will be getting a hike. Bharat Arun, who has been retained as the bowling coach, will draw a salary of about 3.5 crore while Fielding Coach R Sridhar is also expected to get a similar amount. Newly appointed Batting coach Vikram Rathour, who will replace Sanjay Bangar will be drawing a salary of 2.5 to 3 crore. All these new contracts would come into effect from September 1. The previous set of coaches whose contract ended after India's loss in the semifinals of the ICC World Cup 2019 were given a 45-day extension by the BCCI until the end of the West Indies tour.

Coming back after the semifinal loss, Virat Kohli and his men made light work of the West Indies side on their home turf. They comfortably won all the games of the series barring the ODI game which got washed out due to rain. The series whitewash in the two-match Test series also helped India pocket full 120 points available for the ICC World Test Championship.

Team India, will next host South Africa from 15th September for 3 T20Is and 3 Tests.
