England all-rounder Ben Stokes heaped praise on teammate Jofra Archer after they beat Australia in the fifth and final Ashes Test at The Oval to level the series 2-2. Despite England, leveling the series Australia retained the Ashes urn for the first time on England soil after 18 years.

Jofra Archer carried on his World Cup form into the series and was the pick of the bowlers for Joe Root. He was drafted into the squad after James Anderson was injured during the first Test at Birmingham. Archer made his debut in the second Test at Lord's and made a massive impact on the side with his pace and bounce. He picked up 22 wickets from 4 matches at an average of 20.27 and emerged as the third highest wicket-taker in the series behind Australia's Pat Cummins and teammate Stuart Broad.

In the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2019, Archer picked up 20 wickets from 11 matches. He will be fondly remembered for delivering the Super Over of the finals after the game ended in a tie.

Ben Stokes said, "I don’t think I've seen a more talented bowler in my time. It's great to have him on your team. No doubt he is the sort of guy who can help get those Ashes back when we go down under."

He also said that it was incredible to see a 24-year-old turning up for his national side and making a mark straightaway. "It is very rare for a 24-year-old to be able to come in, be exposed to this environment and then step up and improve game by game as quickly as Jof is doing it. There is plenty more to come from him because he is so skilful and picks things up so quickly."
