Indian cricket has seen some of the finest captains who have brought glory to the country. We had the likes of Tiger Pataudi, Kapil Dev who won the world cup in 1983 and then we have  Sourav Ganguly who also took team India to the final of 2003 World Cup. Then came MS Dhoni who transformed the team into world beaters

Opinions might be divided but the trio has done phenomenal things while leading the team. As far as the trophy-haul is concerned, MSD is one of the successful skipper winning everything on offer.

It's been exactly 12 years since Dhoni started his journey as captain of India. The stage was the inaugural T20 World Cup 2007  played in South Africa and MSD led the team for the first time against arch rival Pakistan on14th September after the opening encounter against Scotland was abandoned due to rain. The match ended in a victory via 'bowl out' for the Men in Blue who later went onto win the title beating the same opponent.

After the T20I World Cup, Dhoni guided, India to 2011 ICC World Cup as well as the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, making him the first captain to complete the treble.
